I'm currently writing a book for fellow descendants of Sir Thomas Wyatt and Elizabeth Brooke. It started out as something for immediate family, but it is growing out of control.
Sir Thomas Wyatt nearly lost his head due to his love for Anne Boleyn - Elizabeth's cousin. Henry VIII spared Sir Thomas' life - and is rumored to have had his eye on Elizabeth. Her pedigree goes back through Matilda of Flanders, Queen of William the Conqueror, legendary vikings and others.
Sir Thomas Wyatt and Elizabeth Brooke's son "Thomas the Younger" led a rebellion against "Bloody Mary". When apprehended, she took great pleasure in having him torn apart. His head was stolen and his limbs were scattered across the English countryside.
Thomas the Younger's descendant, Reverend Hawte Wyatt, was among the first to settle the Jamestown Colony. Hawte's brother Sir Francis Wyatt acted as governor. Hawte's descendants served in the Revolutionary war and Civil wars.
Sex, violence, intrigue ... who needs fiction? The research is intense, but addictive.
"Sick Mick's Guide to Selling Antiques & Collectibles"
After two long years with crushing UNDIAGNOSED illness I was on the brink of despair. During that time I lost it all, from job to self-respect. I was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease - then began the long recovery period following IV antibiotics. Ultimately it took a move to a warmer climate to regain my strength.
During three years of illness my hobby - antiques - kept me from sliding the slippery slope into depression.
When I began recovering, I wanted to write a book that would help others. By that time, I had done it all - sold in antique malls, opened my own mall with dealers - and then without. During the worst of my illness, my eBay store kept me alive mentally while helping out financially.
I wrote this book to help other collectors who are living with chronic illness.
These days I'm not so thrilled with FeeBay, but the concepts remain the same. I tried eBay ProStores in 2009 but hated it. (My inventory is too varied; if you have large quantities of few items you'll be OK.)
I've had better luck with Craigslist and it's free.
